Information about Material Models

Hyperelastic Models

Viscoplastic Models

Introduction

This web site provides information and hands-on learning about different material models that are useful for finite element simulations of polymer materials. All material models that are included here are available as user-material subroutines (e.g. Abaqus UMAT and VUMAT) from Veryst Engineering.

How to use this site

  1. Select one material model from the lists to the left or from the menu bar at the top.
  2. Modify the material parameters and applied load history, then click the "Plot Stress-Strain Response" button. The predicted stress-strain response will be calculated and plotted.
  3. Read about the material model and the parameters to learn more about the selected model.

Final comments

Head over to the PolymerFEM.com forums if you have any questions about any of the material models. Send me a message if you want support with your FE work. I am a world leader in polymer mechanics with a Ph.D. from M.I.T, and I work as an engineering consultant at Veryst Engineering. I would be happy to provide value and accuracy to your analysis work.
